ITINERARY
OFF-RIVER ARRIVAL DAY:
Welcome to Smithers! This Northern British Columbia gem is home to endless adventures. If time is a luxury you can afford, it would be well spent arriving a few days earlier and exploring this vast playground. 5 Pm: Meet your Stellar Guide Team to discuss gear, safety, and trip logistics. |

Day THREE:
The thrill of paddling whitewater begins today on the Babine! Your experienced guides will lead you through Pinball Alley a sustained section of Class 3 rapids; followed by Babine Canyon a stunning contrast of black rock walls against the brilliantly blue river. End your day at a crowd-favorite camp, the area sits next to a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the canyon. You will feel exhilarated and exhausted after such a stellar day! |
Day FOUR:
Today Is THE DAY; big drops and crazy lines! Feeling comfortable in the raft and ready for more adventure we will experience it all in this section. Beginning with the aptly named Grizzly Drop this rapid section is often shared with grizzlies feeding on salmon. Followed immediately by Sphincter One & Two (use your imagination)! As we end the day with an exciting kilometer-long Class 4 stretch in the narrow mouth of Kisgegas Canyon we will land in camp with many stories to share around a hot dinner by the fire. |
Day FIVE: We leave the Babine behind us and enter the wide-open Skeena River. Known for its high volume and big waves this day guarantees you will get wet as your raft goes rides through it all. Leaving the big water behind, we travel through coastal rock and cedars along the shore to our final riverside camp of the trip. With so many stories to share it’s tough to leave the fire to head to bed knowing the trip is coming to an end. Day SIX:
Experiences such as this fill your soul with memories for life. As we head back into civilization you will cross under a big bridge and begin to encounter other signs of human life; the first in almost a week. Passing through Kispiox look for the totem poles lining the shores, they stand honouring their ancestors. Use this time to reflect on what life would have been like back then. Landing in Hazelton the shuttle awaits to take you back to Smithers for a hot shower, dinner, and drinks with your crew for one last night. |
