Bookings are open for 2023 the earlier you reserve your trip guarantees you the dates and times you prefer. The Fraser Float, Fraser Whitewater you may book available trips up to 1 hour in advanced of a trip check in time. The Fraser River Combo and the Beaver River you may book available trips the day before your chosen trip date. The Dore River must be booked 3 days at minimum to your chosen trip date. i live in the robson vally do i get a discount?

Pre-TripWHAT IS INCLUDED IN EACH TRIP?
Spectacular views of the Robson Valley and the Rocky Mountains while navigating these scenic rivers. A professional river guide with each boat, who will explain and demonstrate paddle, safety and emergency techniques. All safety equipment: wetsuits, lifejacket, helmet, rain jacket, wetsuit booties and gloves. Transportation from our Base in Tete Jean Cache to and from the river. You will be brought back to your vehicle at the end of the trip HOW LONG IS THE TRIP?
All Trips start and finish at the Stellar Descents rafting base, located in Tete-Jaune Cache and includes travel by bus to and from the take-ins and take-outs. The time of trips also includes gearing up, a pre-trip talk with your guides, and reviewing your photos after the trip. Each trip varies in shuttle and on-water time. On-water times are approximates as they vary depending on the water level/flow rate that day. The Fraser Float begins at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM daily. You will be on the river for approximately one hour and will be back at the raft base approximately 2 hours after your trip time began. The Fraser Whitewater runs at 10:45 AM, 1:45 PM, and 4:45 PM daily. You will be on the river for approximately 1.5 hours, with a scenic break at Rearguard Falls in the middle of your trip. You will be back at the raft base approximately 3 hours after your trip began. The Beaver trip runs at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM. The river is located 45 minutes West of Tete-Jaune Cache, where your guides will drive you another 16 kilometers up the Holmes River FSR to the put-in. You will be on the water for approximately 1.5 hours. You will be back at the base approximately 4 hours after your trip began. The Dore trip begins in the morning, at 8:30am. The river is located 1 hour West of Tete-Jaune Cache, where your guides will drive you another 6 kilometers up the Dore FSR to the put-in. You will be on the water for approximately 1hr. If you have chosen to “Double Down on the Dore”, and take a second lap, you will have another shuttle ride up to the put-in. You will arrive back to the base 5-6 hours after the beginning of your trip. WHEN DO RAFT TRIPS RUN?
The Fraser Float begins at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM daily. The Fraser Whitewater runs at 7:45 AM, 10:45 AM, 1:45 PM, and 4:45 PM daily. The Beaver trip runs at 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM. The Dore trip must begin in the morning, but the time is determined upon booking your trip HOW MUCH DO RAFT TRIPS COST?
The Fraser Float is $50 + tax per adult (age 19 and above). Youth (5-18 years old) are $40 + tax and children under the age of 5 are free. What to bringwhat should i bring with me?
Please wear your swimsuit under your clothes. Have warm clothes and a towel for after the tour. A thin toque or hat for colder days can be worn under the helmet. Your belongings can be stored in our change facilities, in the office, on the bus or in your own car while you are on the river. Sunscreen is great on a hot day, avoid putting it above or near your eyes. Remember your body will be mostly covered by our rafting layers and equipment. can i wear sunglasses or CONTACT LENSES?
If your glasses are essential to being able to safely participate and see the amazing views please bring them along with a secure sports band. We can provide tape or string if needed. If your glasses are not essential please leave them in your car as to not risk damaging or loosing them. Contact lenses shouldn’t impact your trip if you are comfortable swimming with them on. Please let your guide know. CAN I BRNG MY OWN WETSUIT OR SAFETY EQUIPMENT?
No, we provide everything for the rafting trip. WHAT IF I'M ALLERGIC TO NEOPRENE?
Unfortunately a wetsuit is required to raft. The river is still quite cold. To help protect your skin you may wear nylon tights and a thin synthetic shirt under the neoprene. CAN I BRING MY OWN CAMERA or Gopro
We often say, “If you would be really sad to lose or break your personal item, then you should leave it on the bus”. You are free to bring your own GoPro on any trip, but understand we are not responsible for any lost or damage that could occur. If you are bringing your own GoPro, you may ask to use a helmet with a GoPro mount already secured. You may bring your own camera on the Scenic Float trip to capture the stunning mountain scenery and any possible wildlife sightings you may see. Each whitewater trip is followed by a photographer who will get you some awesome shots that you can review and purchase for $20 after your trip. SHOULD I TIP THE GUIDE?

No experience is necessary! We provide you with a Professional River Guide to guide you on your river adventure. This includes an on-land pre-trip talk before your departure and practicing paddling on the river before the waves. We encourage those looking to tackle the Class IV Beaver or Dore River to have previous experience rafting in Class III. do i need to know how to swim?
If you do not know how to swim that’s okay, we take many non-swimmers rafting every summer. If you have any hesitations, consider the Fraser Whitewater or Scenic Float trips. Please inform your guide that you are a weak swimmer the day of your trip. Only confident swimmers should tackle the Class IV Beaver or Dore Rivers.. what traing and qualifications do raft guides have?
All of our guides are hired meeting or exceeding industry standards. They are all trained in Advanced River Rescue, First Aid, and hold a British Columbia Rafting License through the BCROA. As well, Stellar Descents holds regular staff training on our local rivers in order to maintain excellent operation skills and knowledge of our rivers. You are in good hands. is it safe?
Our guides are certified and well trained to mitigate risks in the river environment and guide you through anything that may arise. All adventure activities and whitewater sports involve inherent risks, and while we cannot eliminate them, we are well trained in managing them. Stellar Descents has been operating for 22 years and in that time we have had no major injuries or accidents. If you are hesitant due to safety concerns, we recommend a lower class of river (e.g. The Fraser Family Whitewater section or Scenic Float trip). could i fall out of the raft?
Falling out of the raft is possible, however by following your guide's directions you decrease your chances of falling out. We do everything possible as a company to keep you inside the raft, providing you with top of the line equipment, including safety lines positioned around the raft, and very thorough, clear briefings and demonstrations before the rafting tour. We want you to be prepared and ready to enjoy your tour with us. do i need to sign a waiver?
Yes, every guest who participates on one of our rafting tours needs to sign our waiver form which can be found on the Policies Page. This is a condition of participation before any adventure activity in North America and around the world now. Any guest under 18 years of age will need a “Consent of Parent or Guardian”-form. You will be asked to sign your waivers in person before the start of the trip at the Stellar Base. |
on the riverwhat will i see on the river trip?
The Scenic Float provides the richest wildlife experience, as you slowly meander through the three mountain ranges - the Cariboo, Rockies, and Monashees - that surround the Fraser Valley. Our guests sometimes see bears, moose, beavers, deer, harrens, eagles and more. All of our trips travel through beautiful BC wilderness, made up of pine, cedar and spruce forests. Near the end of August we are lucky to see the salmon run the Fraser River after their long journey from the Pacific Ocean. You can see them in the water on the Scenic Float or at Rearguard falls on the Fraser Whitewater Trip. how many people will be on this tour?

Our trips depart rain or shine. Remember, you’re going to get wet whether it comes from the sky or the river. If it rains, you will be provided with extra layers to keep you warm on the trip. how do i stay warm if i get cold easily?
For the whitewater trips, you are provided with a wetsuit, booties, fleece, and splash top along with your life jacket and helmet. You will also be staying warm by paddling throughout the trip. For the scenic float, please dress for the weather and remember it can be windy on the river. |
