Work Life
Stellar is a small company with a tightly knit crew. We enjoy working together on the river as a solid team, which is especially required for our Class 4 rivers. You can expect to have individualized training dependent on your previous experience level. All guides are trained for multiple runs on each river before they guide, and initially only experienced guides will guide the Beaver or Dore. After Work Life Depending on your budget, you can choose to rent your own accommodations in Valemount/Tete-Jaune or we offer more cost effective guiding accommodations in Tete Jaune on a rural acreage, where there will be different forms of camping available. Further details regarding accommodations can be discussed during your interview. In your spare time, you can take your pick of adventure sports in the area. The rivers we raft are also amazing to kayak or SUP. As well Valemount boasts a hidden gem, the local Valemount Bike Park, where there are world-class mountain biking trails available. The Valemount Climbing Club just opened a local bouldering wall and has bolted sport climbs located up the Canoe river FSR. Endless hiking surrounds you, and Mount Robson – the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies – is just 20 minutes away. Jasper National Park is also located 1 hour away, where there is also mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing available. The owners of Stellar Descents are avid outdoor enthusiasts and can recommend the best spots to go. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Justin or Reta at the email below.
